Our Brewery

Fat Hill Brewing is a 100% locally owned 7-barrel craft brewery that opened in Mason City in December 2016.  Our brewing facility and taproom in the long-vacant historic building at 17 N. Federal Avenue features sixteen taps, space for 140 patrons, and a variety of live music and special events.  We are so excited to be located in beautiful downtown Mason City!

The founders/owners of FHB are beer enthusiasts Jake Rajewsky and Molly Angstman, a BFF duo.  Jake serves as brewer/GM and Molly is our marketing and events manager.  They both love serving beer and chatting to customers so you'll see them working behind the bar quite a bit too.  Joining the ownership team in 2022, Jon Bendickson serves as our taproom manager and the resident can-fix-everything guy! Other faces you'll see at the brewery include our fabulous staff:  Taylor, Tim, Jen, Ben, Jordan, and Tina.  We have a great team here and are so proud/humbled that they all want to work with us.

We've been thrilled with the response to our beer so far.  We've made over 100 different styles since we open and are pretty proud of each one.  Our flagship beers include our Blonde Ale, American wheat, robust porter, IPA, and Scottish ale.  Some seasonal favorites have been our Rongorongo New England Style IPA, Oktoberfest, Dopplebock, Braggot, and Hibiscus Saison.  The taproom sells pints, flights, crowlers, growlers, and kegs on request.

Our taproom attracts a great variety of people in part because we keep our calendar super busy.  Some of our past special events include a flower arranging work shop, wreath making, speed friending, tarot card readings, string art, origami, coloring book nights, food pairings, and craft beer classes.  We also have several regular monthly meet-ups, including a book club, a writing group, and a knitting club.

We have been so grateful for an amazing six-ish years.  Thank you to all of our customers, staff, and families for all your support.

Cheers!
