Our movie for September is Fiddler on the Roof, a beloved musical set in the early 1900s in the small Jewish village of Anatevka, Russia. The story centers on Tevye, a poor milkman, and his family, as they navigate tradition, love, and social change amidst the backdrop of growing anti-Semitism. The musical explores themes of family, faith, cultural identity, and the struggle to maintain tradition in a rapidly changing world.
Film Folks is a casual group for any movie lover! We meet the 2nd Thursday of the month at 7 PM. Watch the movie ahead of time and then we’ll all gather at the brewery to share our opinions and answer some discussion questions together. (Like a book club, but with movies instead of books!) There is no attendance requirements, cost to participate, and no purchase necessary. Just come hang out with some fellow movie fans. Check in with the bar when you arrive and they will point you in the direction of the group. Because we want to best facilitate easy discussion and connection, there will likely be several different small tables for film group and not one big one. Our advice? Pick the table where you know the least people and make some new film friends!
